The third step is to write these values to the MPUSEG register. Then, assign rights and violation responses for each protected block. As an example, to be suitable for code memory, the first two blocks can be read, execute with write disabled. The last block can be read only, with write and execute disabled for constant data. Once protections on the segments have been set, configure what happens when a violation occurs –either a non-maskable interrupt, or a reset. If MPULOCK bit is set, lock the MPU settings until a BOR occurs, so that the access protections cannot be accidentally changed.
