Phoenix Contact- Push-X Terminal Blocks | First Look

The Phoenix Contact Push-X terminal blocks can connect all conductor types and cross-sections rapidly with a tool-free conductor connection. As opposed to the existing push-in connection, the tool-free conductor connection uses a pretensioned contact spring to accommodate all types of conductors with direct wiring without the need for tools or force. The spring enables the connection of rigid and flexible conductors with or without ferrules. All that is necessary to actuate the locking mechanism at the end of the contact chamber to clamp the terminated wires into place with the contact spring. This locking mechanism cleverly bypasses the holding force of the contact spring during conductor insertion. The conductor is clamped effortlessly. Technicians can tell when the clamping chamber is released or clamped by simply viewing the pusher position. When the force-guided pusher is level with the terminal, the clamping chamber is closed. As with the Push-in system, connected conductors can be disconnected by pressing the orange pusher. At the same time the conductor is released, the contact spring is preloaded for a new wiring operation. The Push-X terminal blocks can be used with other terminal blocks within Phoenix Contact’s CLIPLINE system as well as standardized accessories for a highly compatible system. The system allows for space-saving wiring of all conductor cross-sections between 0.14 and 185 millimeters squared. The Push-X terminal blocks consist of feed-through and multi-conductor terminal blocks in cross-sections of 6, 10, and 16 millimeters squared. In addition to the standard gray terminal blocks, the product family also includes other colors and protective conductor terminal blocks.
