KEMET Piezoelectric Acoustic Modules | DigiKey Daily
Kemet offers their piezoelectric acoustic modules. These multilayer piezoelectric bimorph actuators are ceramic elements used for converting electrical energy into mechanical energy, such as displacement or force by utilizing the piezoelectric longitudinal effect. These modules are based on KEMET's unique element structure design and piezoelectric ceramic materials with high electrostrictive factors. They generate both sound and vibration from the chassis simultaneously. Their rated driving voltage is 20-volts peak-to-peak, have a humidity range of up to 70%, and a temperature range from minus 25 degrees Celsius to 70 degrees Celsius. Benefits include no requirement for a sound hole, ease of hearing in noisy environments, fast and easy installation using the provided adhesive tape, and others. Applications include speakers and smartphone receivers.
