GRF-500 Laser Rangefinder
LightWare LiDAR GRF-500 is a compact high precision 1640 ft/500 meter laser rangefinder for EO/IR gimbal integration
LightWare LiDAR GRF-500 is a laser rangefinder designed for high-precision distance measurement in demanding applications. With an impressive 500 meter detection range, this ultralight and compact distance sensor is optimized for seamless integration into EO/IR gimbals, enabling precise object location, GPS coordinate establishment, and enhanced focusing capabilities, even in low light conditions.
At 10.7 grams and measuring 32 mm x 31 mm x 20 mm, the GRF-500 is an optimal choice for size and weight constraint applications, such as UAV-based surveillance, security, and search-and-rescue operations.
The GRF-500 operates on a time-of-flight measurement principle, ensuring accurate distance readings with a resolution of 10 cm and an accuracy of 0.5 meters. The sensor features a configurable update rate of 0.5 to 10 readings per second, providing real-time data essential for automated decision-making processes. It easily and accurately performs at its maximum range on low-reflectivity objects like trees and can detect multiple objects in its field of view.
With a low power draw of 0.6 W (120 mA @ 5 V), the GRF-500 is ideal for extended operational use without compromising battery life. Its ability to function reliably in outdoor environments, regardless of ambient light, wind, or noise interference, makes it a versatile solution for precision sensing applications.
LightWare LiDAR is known for its compact, high-performance distance sensors, delivering excellent performance at the lowest possible weight within a form factor that is easy to integrate, building on the LightWare LiDAR proven reputation for ultralight sensors. The GRF-500 is engineered to deliver all the performance users need from a laser rangefinder, with the best balance of size, weight, features, and cost.
Recognizing the demanding weather conditions where security, conservation, or rescue teams need to operate drones, the GRF-500’s front face features an IP67 waterproof rating, and LightWare LiDAR build quality ensures product integrity. The GRF-500 is assembled by specialist LightWare LiDAR technicians using a process benchmarked to ISO9001 standards.
