S-Force Series Tubeaxial Fans

Image of ebm-papst's S-Force Series Tubeaxial Fans ebm-papst Inc.'s S-Force generation of compact fans is divided into several series with sizes ranging from 80 mm to 220 mm. Each series represents the benchmark in its class with respect to air performance and pressure build-up. These high-performance fans excel in a wide variety of applications and are characterized by maximum cooling air flow at operating points with high back-pressure, high motor efficiency, and long service life. At the heart of the S-Force series are highly compact single-phase and three-phase multi-pole motors with wear-free electronic commutation. Their advantages include high efficiency with low dissipated energy, intelligent function, and a peak power of more than 150 W.

2200FTD Series

The 2200FTD series features integrated speed controlled motors which minimize heat generation and offer up to 89% efficiency. The 2200FTD achieves a 30% higher airflow and a 65% higher cooling density than comparable 200 mm fans on the market, all in a slender package that is 27% thinner. Speed adjusted self-ventilation provides motor cooling that guarantees a long service life of 70,000 hours or more. Aerodynamically optimized interior contours on the venturi housing, a tight blade tip to venturi gap clearance, and winglet technology on the blade tips all contribute to a substantial decrease in air turbulence and lower acoustic noise levels. As a bonus, the 2200FTD series quietly and efficiently exceeds present ATCA® system cooling requirements.

3200J Series

Faster, higher, and more intelligent, the 3200J series is a standard for fans in the 92 mm class with its excellent air performance and pressure build-up. This series has a new housing design, a newly developed impeller with winglets on the blade tips and with aerodynamically optimized sickle-shaped blades for the highest air performance and efficiency. The S-Force 3200J series offers maximum capabilities for its size in performance, technology, and versatility. The compact axial fans deliver 164 CFM with the highest-pressure build-up of 2.8 in of H2O. These fans are ideally suited for devices and systems with higher heat build-up and larger component density.

4100N Series

The 4100N series of DC fans are made of fiberglass-reinforced plastic with an electronically commutated external rotor motor and deliver an optimum operating point of 176 CFM with a pressure build-up of 2.2 inches of H2O, 337 CFM at free air. The 3-phase multipole motor is designed for a 24 V or 48 V operating voltage and for two speeds. It is optimally cooled by an inside air flow that is adjusted for speed. The operating temperatures of the motor electronics and the bearing system are constantly low, guaranteeing a long service life. The 4100N series is particularly suited for compact control cabinets, telecommunications, and advanced industrial applications.

5300 Series

The 5300 series offers previously unattained flow performance values. With 394 CFM and up to 5.6 inches of H2O of pressure, they are suited for applications with high air requirements at a high counter-pressure. A sensorless, electronically commutated multi-pole external rotor motor with rare-earth magnets and 85% efficiency ensures the necessary drive energy. With durable ball bearings and sophisticated cooling inside the motor, this series can achieve a service life of up to 70,000 hours. Reverse polarity and locked-rotor protection are standard. The robust die-cast aluminum housing and the aerodynamically optimized impeller made of fiberglass reinforced polyamide are optimized according to the specifications of extensive FEM simulations and attuned to the high speeds and air performance values. The S-Force 5300 series is well-suited for rigorous use in compact ATCA devices, servers, telecommunications, and industrial applications. The fans operate in the temperature range of -4°F to +158°F at 12 V, 24 V, or 48 V.

6300 Series

The 6300 series has a maximum flow rate of 559 CFM and pressure of 4.8 inches of H2O with a diameter of 172 mm. Its unique cooling capacity consists of an aerodynamically optimized die-cast aluminum venturi housing and fiberglass-reinforced polyamide impeller with sickle-shaped blades incorporating winglet technology that is specifically designed to attain high speeds and air performance. The fan housing and impeller are optimized according to the specifications of extensive FEM simulations. With durable ball bearings and sophisticated cooling inside the motor, these fans achieve a service life of up to 70,000 hours. The rigid compression curve ensures large airflows when there is high counter pressure. Thus, the S-Force 6300 series is particularly suited for cooling-intensive applications like telecommunication systems, servers, control cabinets, and industrial use.

8200J Series

With a new housing design, impellers with winglet technology, and aerodynamically optimized sickle-shaped blades to achieve the highest air performance, the 8200J series offers the maximum for their size in performance, technology, and versatility. The compact axial fans deliver more than 129 CFM with a size of only 80 mm x 80 mm x 38 mm. The highest-pressure build-up is about 2.6 inches H2O. The rigid compression curve with a high-pressure saddle curve allows for large airflows when there is high counter-pressure, making these fans ideal for devices and systems with higher heat build-up and larger component density. The maintenance-free external rotor motor with ball bearings and integrated commutation electronics come equipped standard with locked-rotor, overload, and reverse-polarity protection.
